This is the story of a young girl who is a chimney sweep in Victorian England. Nan is an orphan working as a “climber” cleaning chimneys. After her master nearly burns her alive in a chimney she is rescued by a Golum left to her by a sweep who was her adopted father. Alone and hiding from her former master, Nan and the Golum carve a life for themselves and end up saving each other.
