The Cryptid Catcher, by Lija Fisher

Written by Lija Fisher

Clivo Wren’s archeologist dad dies mysteriously on a trip and his life changes dramatically. He finds out that his dad was a cryptid catcher and he is to take his dad’s place. He is to find cryptids, capture them, take a picture with them and do a blood test to see if it is the “immortal.” He finds a group of genius friends to partner with, a creepy mean cryptid catcher who wants him dead, a supposed friend who looks like a witch with red nails and a crazy, kindhearted Aunt Stephanie who can’t know his secret. With his disaster of finding Nessie he realizes that this is going to be a lot harder than he thought. This was a good book but was slow in places, a little difficult to read.
