He is rewarded by transforming into a beautiful butterfly, of course, but must still be patient as it is now time to migrate.
This is a great introductory book to teach the life cycle of a caterpillar with humor and eye-catching illustrations. There is a great spread that shows how a chrysalis changes each day for 2 weeks. The scientific vocabulary is explained in an easy to understand manner: chrysalis, metamorphosis, transformation, and migration, as well as the entire concept of patience. Very cute.
