This is Book 4 in the Dragonwatch series by Brandon Mull – and it’s an impressive one. Not only is the storyline captivating and exciting, but the book is over 500 pages and will either be a daunting or a welcome challenge to the younger reader.

The story begins with Kendra and her small band of trusted friends preparing to travel to the Dragon Sanctuary of Titan Valley, where she hopes to find her lost brother, Seth. Not only is the sanctuary ruled by the powerful and tyrannical Giant Queen, it is also home to the popular Titan Games which are run (and manipulated) by the Demon, Humbuggle, who stole Seth’s memories and set him on his perilous path. The author has created an amazing and colorful fantasy world filled with fairies, trolls, giants, dragons, and much more for his intrepid young heroes to navigate. It’s a fast-paced and fun read and Brandon Mull’s imagination is a truly wondrous place for the reader to enter. I highly recommend this for ages 10 and up.
