Fish and Sun

Written and Illustrated by Sergio Ruzzier

Fish and Sun is a cute story of friendship. When Fish is bored, he goes to the surface and finds Sun. They play all day, and then Sun begins to leave, and Fish is sad and wonders if he will ever see his friend again.

I was a little confused with this book to begin with. It is an “I Can Read! Comics” book, so I thought that it was going to be set up like a comic strip. The book even has instructions at the beginning of the book teaching how to read and understand a comic or graphic novel. But the book has only one main picture on each page like a regular picture book. It does have word bubbles like a comic, but that seems to be about the only thing that relates to a comic.

It is a good book for beginner readers, with just a few words per page, and I think that the kids will love the story that the book tells.
