This book is about four kids who live in a town called Elmwood where there is a hidden fortune that belonged to Maxine Van Houten. The main character, named Gina, also has to deal with her mom getting a job in Boston, which is supposedly really far away. Gina is an 11-year-old blond haired white girl who likes journalism. Kevin is a black boy that likes math and has black hair. Edgar is a white boy with orange hair and wants to be an actor. Elana is a white girl who likes science and pranks – she has black hair and glasses. I liked this story. It was interesting and had a good intriguing plot and awesome character development. Another reason I like it is because it has interesting clues that give you a feeling of satisfaction if you figure it out before the protagonist.
