Brayden Speaks Up

How One Boy Inspired the Nation

Written by Brayden Harrington, Illustrated by Betty C. Tang

Brayden is a 13-year-old boy who loves to talk, but sometimes the words get caught in his mouth. He finds out he has a stutter. When Joe Biden comes to visit his town, he gets to meet Mr. Biden and finds out that he also stuttered as a child. Joe told him “My bumpy speech didn’t stop me. Nothing should stop you.” Brayden was filled with hope after meeting Mr. Biden and soon after was asked to speak at the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Brayden’s story has given hope to many people. Great story and pictures.
