Written by Ernesto Cisneros
Best friends Isaac and Marco are about to start middle school and they couldn’t be more different. Isaac is tall and athletic but struggles academically. Marco is a straight A student, on the shorter side, and is not athletically inclined. They both feel like they fall short when it comes to parent expectations, but are able to help each other out through their struggles.
This book is all about school, family, teamwork, friendship, and basketball. I loved the story and couldn’t put it down! The characters are realistic and likable, and are dealing with some of the same situations and struggles that children are facing today at home and school.Reviewed by Jennifer Young, Librarian, Woodstock Elementary
