If this book has one thing, it is voice! It is if you can hear Marcus because of the author’s very colloquial writing. If you know Kevin Hart and have heard him speak, it sounds exactly like him. It makes the book so engaging and fun to read. Plus, the message of the story pertains so well to kids today and teaches a great lesson. The book is funny, full of life, and witty. While very fun, the book also describes families with a single parent, not having much money, having to work hard for success (and not getting it), working through friendships, and asking for help. Overall, I highly recommend this book!
