The Troubled Girls of Dragomir Academy

Written by Anne Ursu

The Troubled Girls of Dragomir Academy is a feministic fantasy novel. When her brother Luka is tested for magical ability, Marya, who was told to stay out of the way, accidentally interrupts the proceedings and things go horribly wrong. Not only is Luka not accepted into training as a sorcerer, but a few days later Marya is shipped off to a school for troubled girls. At school she discovers a mysterious, destructive force called “The Dread” which is appearing all over the kingdom.

This story teaches girls to own the power within themselves and to stand up to authority when they see lies and others trying to keep them uneducated and controlled.
