I haven’t read the first two “The Terribles” books, so I didn’t know what to expect. The first half was frustrating to get through, because it felt like just a bunch of random stuff put together. By the end, though, I saw how it works. Think of this book as a combination of short stories with characters from the same world, along with activities scattered throughout. There are a lot of made-up words, so I would not recommend it for readers just starting chapter books. But it is cleverly written, so it’s probably better suited for upper elementary.
