I’m From is a celebration of things that are meaningful to a young boy. Children will find much to relate to in this story, from pancakes for breakfast, bus rides to school, recesses that are too short, and school days that are too long. What I love most are the personal moments he spends with his family. This story will inspire young readers to think of where they are from, what makes them unique, and what makes them feel special. In fact, I bet its readers will be inspired to produce their own “I’m From” lists. This would be a great read aloud with a follow-up writing activity. Illustrated with beautifully cut paper, this story will inspire connections and build relationships in classrooms and communities wherever shared.
