Baker Makers

Written and Illustrated by Kim Smith

Naveen thinks that because he watches a lot of baking shows that he is a master baker. The class at Baker’s Maker’s Lab get an assignment from the teacher. They will all bake a cake using the simple recipe that the teacher gives them. He is going to make the best cake of all. After all, he watches a lot of baking shows. He soon finds out that thinking he is a master baker is different than being a master baker. The cake does not turn out as planned. The next day he decides it might be a good idea to stick to the recipe. This cake turns out better but crumbles when he tries to carve it. Instead of giving up he makes unicorn cake pops and has the best dessert of the day. I have a lot of students that love cookbooks. I think they will really like this one.
