The Ghostly Photos

Mysteries of Trash and Treasure, #2

Written by Margaret Peterson Haddix

First, I like that there are cliffhangers. They are really good ones, too. But there is also cursive and 4th grade and younger don’t usually know cursive or cannot read it. Also, when Collin’s dad dies, his mom gets ruthless, which isn’t that nice. But when his friends help him with his grief it really shows friendship (which is the best kind of ship? Friendship!). I mostly think that the real lesson of the story is caring for others and in times of hardship you can always live. It also shows something of the Great Depression, which is a very important part of our history. It shows that great mysteries can always be solved and also most mysteries are found in tombs and graves, or at least normally, in my case.
