This story has several good messages, such as “everyone deserves to walk their own path” and “everyone is unique and that makes the world a more interesting place.” It also has cute characters and a sweet storyline, but it felt like a bit much. The good characters are almost too perfect, and the bad characters are extreme and unrealistic. The story was slow and sappy, and everything is wrapped up too neatly in the end. There were parts of The Underdogs of Upson Downs I liked, but it fell short.
