This book is a great way to introduce children to the elements of science. Rompella uses everyday, household objects to do science in a fun way. Though not exactly new ideas, they are all activities that kids will enjoy. I especially liked the “gas-powered car” experiment: a balloon tied onto a straw that you blow into to make a small car move – both easy and interesting. The most useful part of the book is the “Why It Works” section in the back that explains the science behind the experiments. This is a wonderful book for both classrooms and homes.
