Clash of Kingdoms, #1
Written by Erin Summerill
Britta is arrested for poaching and is taken in for punishment. Punishment for poaching on the Kings land is death. Instead of being punished she is asked to help find her Father’s murderer. She is very surprised to know who they think killed her Father: her Father’s former apprentice, Cohen, the one she loves. After tracking him for days she meets with him secretly. He tells her that he did not kill her Father and Britta believes him. They go off together and uncover a plot to send her country into war. She also finds out that she has magic and can be killed for having it. At times you think that you know who did what, but it turns out it’s not who you think it is. This story reminds me of the series Ranger’s Apprentice with a whole lot more love story in it.
