Written by Sara Schonfeld, Illustrated by Andrew J. Ross
Celebrate a birthday on Mars? With Curiosity you can. This book is about a robot named Curiosity that was sent to Mars to explore the surface and report back to earth. To commemorate its first year being on Mars, it sang to itself “Happy Birthday” on August 5, 2013.
This is a short and sweet read-aloud that will go well with any lesson that is being taught about space. Most of the illustrations are simple but tell the story well. Kids will love to hear about the lonely robot that was sent to a far-off place to find out all that it can about another planet.
