Sora Sweet Reads | Summer 2023

Sora Sweet Reads are back this summer!

Granite students and staff have access to a large library of ebooks and audiobooks in Sora, not only during the school year but all summer long. Starting May 15, when students log in to Sora they will also have access to the Sora Sweet Reads collection, which will remain available through August 28, 2023.

Getting Started with Sora

  1. Visit https://soraapp.com on any computer (or download the Sora app on an Android or Apple device)
  2. Find your school (you can click on any school in Granite School District)
  3. Enter your username (9-number for students) and regular password
  4. Click the Explore tab to browse, search for, and borrow books. Your book will open so that you can start reading or listening right away.
  5. Borrow up to 3 books at a time and place holds on up to 3 books at a time.

Granite’s Sora library is divided into separate collections for elementary, jr. high, and high school students. (Secondary students also have access to the elementary collection, and staff members have access to the full K-12 collection.) We have picture books, chapter books, novels, graphic novels, fiction, nonfiction, audiobooks, read-alongs, magazines, and even some professional learning titles.

Summer Reading Challenges and Activities

Sora provides some readymade activities to share with students at school or at home. You can share a Sora reading challenge or introduce students to Sora with a basic or advanced scavenger hunt. Click on the thumbnails or list below to download options.

Teaching Resources

Sora is providing curated teaching resources for each of the titles in the Sweet Reads collections through the TeachingBooks platform. Resources differ by title but may include author videos, lesson plans, book trailers, activities, author biographies, and more. Click the links below to see the resources available for each title, collected by grade level.
