What a pretty book! The pictures are beautiful and a great representation of Lotte Reiniger’s style. Cut! is written so as to draw you in to the story and make you forget you are learning something new.
I read this with my 3rd and 4th grade children and it turned into a deep dive of searching YouTube for Reiniger’s movies. I love that when they finished the book they wanted more! I think this is a great addition to a non-fiction collection.
I would recommend it for as young as 1st graders if they have someone to read it to them. 3rd grade and up should be able to read it on their own.
