Breathless Reads: Five(5!)-Author Book Tour Comes to SLC

The Breathless Reads book tour rolls into Salt Lake City next week!

Breathless Reads features no less than five debut YA novelists:  Ally Condie (Matched), Andrea Cremer (Nightshade), Kirsten Miller (The Eternal Ones), Beth Revis (Across The Universe) and Brenna Yovanoff (The Replacement).  These authors will appear and sign books in the Main Auditorium of the Salt Lake City Public Library on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. This will be an awesome event for students who loved any of these books, as well as fans of YA Literature in general.

This author visit is co-sponsored by the Salt Lake City Public Library and the King’s English Bookshop.

Granite’s take on the books

Matched, by local Utah author Ally Condie, has received a lot of positive buzz around these parts, including this great review from our own Rosanne Markham, and is a very popular check-out in our secondary schools. Across the Universe, a sci-fi adventure romance which was just released this month, has already received several positive reviews in the press and looks to be a success. The Replacement, despite its appealingly creepy, mysterious cover, has received negative reviews from several of our library staff, including a brutal one star Kindle book review from Kaydean Judy of Granger High. It appears that Catherine Fisher, author of district favorites Incarceron and just-published sequel Sapphique, was at some point part of this tour, but unfortunately she will not be appearing in Salt Lake next week.
