Secret Tree Fort

Secret Tree FortBy Brianne Farley

The story of two sisters that go outside on a beautiful day. One wants to read her book, but the other wants to play. The one that wants to play begs her sister to put down her book and come play with her. When her sister continues reading the other sister makes up a story about a secret tree fort and tells her she’s not invited. She goes on and on telling her sister how cool the secret tree fort is, until she declares that the whole fort is made of candy! When her sister comments that it doesn’t exist, they argue back and forth for a long time, “Yes, it does”, “no, it doesn’t”, until she finally admits that she made it up. To which her sister comments, “Maybe we just need to build it”. I enjoyed the imagination used in describing the tree fort. However, I didn’t enjoy the illustrations.
