The True Story of a Very Young Prisoner of Auschwitz
Written by Michael Bornstein and Debbie Bornstein Holinstat
In 1945, in a now-famous piece of archival footage from the Holocaust, four-year-old Michael Bornstein was filmed by Soviet Soldiers being carried out of Auschwitz in his grandmother’s arms. This is a story about a father’s courageous wit and a mother’s fierce love for Michael. This story was written by Michael Bornstein with his daughter. It is heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. What courage these people had. It was a very good read. It makes you stop and think how lucky we are. The picture on the front of the book was Michael Bornstein in the blue striped shirt in Auschwitz.
