The Real McCoys

Written by Matthew Swanson and Robbie Behr

Moxie McCoy is a 10 year old fourth grader who considers herself quite the detective. Up until now she’s always had her best friend, Maude, by her side to help, but Maude has moved to another state and Moxie is looking for a new best friend/detective partner. When the school mascot goes missing, Moxie struggles to solve the case without Maude by her side. Little does Moxie realize there are two people who can help, if only she’ll open herself to them and take a moment to listen and get to know them.

Reluctant readers especially will enjoy this mystery, as there are fun illustrations on each page that bring the story to life and makes it so the main text doesn’t seem too overwhelming.
