Written and Illustrated by Brian Selznick
This book grabbed my attention from the start, as Brian Selznick started the book with a fast paced, adventurous story about a young boy having an incredible adventure. He continues in this style throughout the book, and when I was finished, I felt like I had read a book of poetry. Stunning imagery is found throughout this series of short stories; this book is delightful from the first sentence. Simple, thought provoking pictures throughout the book add to its charm. Due to the content and writing style, I would recommend this book for 4th grade and up.
