What Is the Civil Rights Movement?

Written by Sherri L. Smith, Illustrated by Tim Foley

If you enjoy the “What Is” books and would like to know more about civil rights, this is a great book! Based on true events, many people are listed as examples of those who stood up for civil rights from the 1950-60s and what they went through to get us where we are today. A few of them include: Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and John Lewis.

The book was so interesting that I couldn’t put it down until it was finished. Loads of information packed in this little 100+ page book with great illustrations on almost every page.
