A Mouthful of Minnows is a delightful fish story to share with friends. Alphonso is an amazing alligator snapping turtle who fishes for his food. When he parks himself at the bottom of the pond and waits for fish to swim into his big mouth, the story becomes full of humor as the big turtle shows patience, kindness, empathy, and friendship. The beautiful illustrations show the characters’ emotions as well as the habitat and other creatures there. The final page of the book contains facts about alligator snapping turtles that young creature-loving readers will enjoy.
