This is a very cute nonfiction picture book about the various species that live in and near ponds. With the bright, nuanced illustrations and the consistent use of rhyming, I feel like kids would enjoy this as a personal read as well as a way for them to learn about new species, how they grow, and how they live in their natural habitat. It was such a beautifully written book and one that fills a gap in the nonfiction section on ponds and pond life, while making it very palatable for kids to read and enjoy and learn at the same time.
