Justice Jackson’s Journey to the U.S. Supreme Court

Written by Kekla Magoon, Illustrated by Laura Freeman

This is the true story of how Kentaji Jackson became the first black woman on the Supreme Court. She had the motto “work first, play later” that she used throughout her life. It’s an inspiring book that reads very factual. I did wish the timeline at the back of the book had been incorporated in the illustration to make it more assessible to kids reading it.
