If you enjoy the “What Is” books and would like to know more about civil rights, this is a great book! Based on true events, many people are listed as examples of those who stood up for civil rights from the 1950-60s and what they went through to get us where we are today. A few of them include: Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks and John Lewis.
The book was so interesting that I couldn’t put it down until it was finished. Loads of information packed in this little 100+ page book with great illustrations on almost every page.Reviewed by Jennifer Young, Media Clerk, Woodstock Elementary School Library
