Written and Illustrated by Lori Nichols
This is a beautiful story of a little girl named Maple. Maple loves her name and when she is just a baby her parents plant a tree in her honor, a maple tree of course. As Maple grew up so did her tree. When Maple was loud her parents sent her out to play. Her tree didn’t might if she was loud, and she would sing to it and dance around it and sometimes even pretend to be a tree. Maple took good care of her tree, through fall and then winter, and then one day something surprising happened, a willow tree started to grow not too far from where Maple’s tree was and then something really surprising happened, Maple became a big sister. Then Maple took care of her baby sister Willow.
This is an enjoyable story with colorful and pretty illustrations, with an endearing ending as well.
