This book is very exciting and keeps the reader engaged and wondering what will happen next. It is about four siblings who leave Norway and come to America. Three of the siblings have special powers that they have inherited from the Norse gods. As they travel, they use their powers to help them. They hire a cowboy to be their guide and become friends with him and his dog. There is some romance, but no sex and only a little bit of swearing. There is some violence, however, as the title may suggest. People and animals are killed. I really enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it.
