Written by Monica Mancillas, Illustrated by Erika Meza
This sweet picture book was a tear jerker for me. Such a beautiful story about the ties of family, even when we don’t speak the same language. I also loved the striking contrast of colors in the illustrations. I would recommend this book to bring diversity of understanding to any elementary school. It could be used to teach lessons about inclusion, family heritage, and language and cultural differences. Highly recommended.
